Green roofs
My architect and I have been thinking about a Green roof for the top of the house. This article does a VERY good job of outlining all the issues: Features Item : Green Roofs: Stormwater Management From the Top Down. It looks like about a $40K addition to the house which is already over $500K over budget. It would be incredibly dramatic. But don't know if I want to pay for it.
